Commonly found in the northern ocean waters off of Alaska and Russia, Salmon Roe caviar may look a bit unusual compared to conventional sturgeon caviar but the flavor will be just as sweet. Typically, Salmon Roe caviar is bright orange with almost a yellowish hue, and the eggs are on the larger side of commonly eaten roe. Perfect to serve with a chilled glass of vodka as per Russian tradition, Salmon Roe can last up to half a year when frozen, though eating it fresh is highly recommended. Tough and solid in texture though surprisingly sweet in taste, for a great late night treat, you won’t want to forget a jar of this roe from Caviar Galore’s vast non sturgeon collection.
